A Hessean wolf is laughing somewhere
I open the closet
Pull on the skin
A few lights go on
And some more go out.
My front door rattles
Figures are quietly moving
down below
And they do not look up
The front door rattles
And then there is no sound
But the buzzing in my ears:
I could fill it with something
But sometimes you need to be reminded
That while you're doing nothing
You're almost forgotten
And you can turn that light out
For just a little while
Doing nothing, feeling nothing, am nothing.
