BONE DANCE

I saw you eyeing up that skull

And by those old gods

You looked wonder-full

My bones shook in the ossuary

From the cold night breeze of January

You had glowing skin

I wanted to look in.

You melted white

As the moon

And I hummed a simple contrite

Little tune

That was drowned out by the spirited wind

And against the leftover rib cages we were pinned,

Lunar white glowing skin

I wanted to look in.

I took the trouble

To get to know you well

But the trouble

Was watching those lips

Not the stories you tell

Our teeth chattered in the ossuary

From the cold night breeze of January

You’ve had glowing skin

I wanted to look in.
