CHEWED LIGHT

Light like gum     come

unstuck

from the never-to-be-seen

only-flinched-at underside

of a pub table

old light, someone else's light

used up light, once sticky, fresh

on the mouth, now hardened, darkened

with dust, scratch now

with a nail, there's some life in the tacklight yet

perhaps even - if you were to - no

no, forsaken light, grosslight

you couldn't possibly light

but you do anyway -

moist light, cave light

radiates out, o servile light

head like a lighthouse light

what it is to release

leftover light
