Laying back into the black ocean
Where the stars rule over the sky
And animals, things that have been
And things that could be rule the earth
A shudder travels through me
Like mercury through a thermometer
But tonight, none of this matters
I am of the black water and spinning
Like a leaf upon its membrane
So that the ruling stars turn
Orion is doing cartwheels
Cassopiea’s chair upends
the Big Dipper,
the big hand of a clock
While the breeze blows me
The current takes me
I travel beyond the shore
And far out to sea
