MORNING FACES

Blue breeze from the open window

Chips away at our morning faces

Our shavings collect like memories

Some melt others rest on the pillow

Replayed over in iridescent colour

The soap bubbles of dream

The mattress creaking as an old house

Haunted by the various sex positions

The spasms as we kick ourselves to sleep

The housecat’s favourite creased spot

The ghost sheet with cigarette burns

For eyeholes peeks between our legs

Blue breeze from the open window

Chips away at our morning faces

The thick frame holds us strong
